DAY 1: ARRIVAL TO LIMA

Upon your arrival to the airport, our staff will assist you with information of the city and drive
you to LUXE HOTEL – overnight

DAY 2: LIMA

DAY 3: LIMA

At scheduled time, we will pick you up from the hotel to begin with the tour of the day. We will drive around the main streets and avenues until we get to the historical centre. Walking around the Plaza de Armas (Main Square) we will admire the façade of the Government Palace, the Cathedral, the Borough Council building and many more. Then to continue to at the Ficus Farm. To start of the guided tour of the farm and explanation of the breeding of the horse in transit, visit of unique specimens of competition, After exhibition of passing horses, typical dances of chalanes and northern sailor + welcome snacks. Before the end take the
lunch in the same farm. We will finish our tour with a visit to the bohemian neighbourhood. Here, we will stop to walk around admiring the republican houses, cross the famous “Puente de los Suspiros” (Bridge of Sighs) inspiration for songs and poems and enjoy beautiful views.

At the end we will drive you back to your hotel. Overnight in Lima.

DAY 4: LIMA – IQUITOS – NAUTA – MARAÑON RIVER - YACAPANA

At schedule time pick you up from the hotel to transfer to Lima airport. Upon arrival Pick up at the airport and transfer by private vehicle to Nauta port, for boarding. On the road you will enjoy a box lunch. Our staff will accompany you to your suite specially equipped with comfortable beds, pure Peruvian pima cotton sheets, cotton bathrobes, air conditioning, private bathroom with shower and amenities.

Before sailing, our bartender will serve you a cocktail prepared with fruits from the region and Pisco, the most popular national liquor in Peru. Do not miss the opportunity to savor it while enjoying a full view of the river from the observation deck, or a panoramic view in the indoor or outdoor lounge. Once we start sailing the naturalist guides will present an overview of the trip program, such as activities, routes, information on wildlife and vegetation, the geographical and historical background, as well as other useful details. If you have any doubts or questions, our guides are always very happy to assist you.

After the welcome briefing we will enjoy a delicious appetizers and have time to rest before the next outing on skiffs to Yacapana, where you will enjoy a night excursion in search of alligators, tarantulas, frogs and other species that appear when the sun goes down.

DAY 5: AMAZON RIVER-SAN JOAQUIN DE OMAGUAS – YACAPA – UVAYALI RIVER

At dawn, before breakfast, we will go out by boat to explore the Amazon River, where we will observe the daily activities that each community carries out on the banks of the river.

Back on the ship you can enjoy our buffet breakfast, which offers a daily selection of traditional dishes, Peruvian specialties, freshly baked homemade products and a variety of freshly prepared juices. After breakfast we will start a boat excursion to explore the Yarapa black water river in search of wildlife.

Return to the cruise and enjoy lunch on board. Before the activity in the afternoon, the guides will give a talk about the local culture.

In the afternoon, we will visit the community of Paranapura, where we will appreciate how they live and learn about their customs, always accompanied by our guides, who will act as interpreters for us.

Towards sunset, we will go in search of animals that can only be seen when the sun goes down: alligators, bats, frogs, tarantulas and other species that populate our biodiverse jungle.

Before dinner, you can enjoy live music by the band on board, which will play a varied repertoire of Amazonian, national and international music.

DAY 6: YARAPA ON UCAYALI RIVER (Black water)-YUCURUCHI – AMAZON RIVER

Before breakfast, we will start an excursion by boat, but this time on the Yarapa River, in search of new imposing landscapes and more emblematic species of the Amazon.

Return to Zafiro for breakfast. After breakfast, we will start a walk in Yucuruchi, the area of   the Ucayali River, located in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, where numerous species of native animals will be sighted.

Return to the ship. At noon we will offer lunch and then you will have time to rest before the afternoon outing, a boat trip on the

Amazon River, in search of the curious pink dolphins and other species. Before returning to the ship, appreciate the breathtaking colors of the Amazonian sunset.

Back on the ship, we will have time to rest and relax with live music while we make time before the presentation of the crew and farewell dinner.

DAY 7: DISEMBARKATION IN NAUTA PORT – IQUITOS –LIMA – CUSCO –SACRED VALLEY

After breakfast, we will proceed to disembark. On your way to the airport, visit Amazon Forever Bio Park, also known as Manatees Rescue Center, where biologists and volunteers care for manatees, an endangered species. Learn how manatees are treated and prepared for their return to their natural habitat. Likewise, other animals are also rescued, treated and reinserted in their natural habitat. Jungle Experiences actively collaborates with this dedicated organization and think tank. We invite you to do so as well and help this meaningful cause. Transfer to the airport. Upon arrival at Lima Airport our staff will be wait for you to assist you to connection to flight to Cusco. At arrival in Cusco airport our staff will be wait for you to transfer you hotel in Sacred Valley. Overnight

DAY 8: FULL DAY SACRED VALLEY

In the morning, we will start our Sacred Valley excursion. Our first stop will be at a textile centre, Awana Kancha, where we will appreciate the talent of some of the many native communities that inhabit the valley and learn about their ancestral knitting techniques and cultural diversity. Then, we will head for the picturesque town of Pisac, where the colourful art crafts market is a daily attraction. Here, people from the town and nearby villages offer their jewellery, pottery and textile creations. At the end 

We will enjoy a delicious lunch 

That afternoon we will visit the stone village of Ollantaytambo, one of the last Incan towns still inhabited, to tour the narrow stone streets and the massive archaeological complex that guards the village. If time allows it, we will visit a “chichería”, a traditional establishment dedicated to the preparation and sale of “chicha”, an ancestral corn-based drink of the Andes; or maybe an old bakery with the colonial mud ovens still in use. Return to the hotel Sacred Valley. Overnight

DAY 9: CUSCO - MACHU PICCHU

Pick you up from the hotel to drive to Poroy train station. We will cross the valley on board of a luxury train to the town of Aguas Calientes, upon arrival our staff will be wait at the Aguas Calientes train station and transfer Machu Picchu PUEBLO INKATERRA HOTEL.

DAY 10: MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

Early pick you up from the hotel to we will take get on bus that will take us up the mountain to the gates of Machu Picchu. At the citadel, we will have a fantastic guided visit of about two and a half hours. We will walk around the narrow streets, the buildings, temples, terraces, fountains and more, while learning about this mysterious and magical city on top of the mountain. 

Tea time will be served at the beautiful “Tinkuy” from the Sanctuary Lodge hotel.

At scheduled time, we will go back to Aguas Calientes station to take the train back to Cusco. Overnight

DAY 11: CUSCO CITY TOUR & NEARBY RUINS

We will start our day with and excursion that will show us the best view of the city. We will continue to Sacsayhuaman, an impressive Incan fortress with monoliths of many metres high, which will teach us a lesson about some of the Incan amazing building techniques. Our tour will take us back to the city for a visit to San Pedro’s market, the main marketplace of the area. Flooded with aromas and colours this place is ready to teach us about the regional produce while we spend some time like a local resident. Nearby we will find Qoricancha, also known as the Temple of Gold, one of the main religious centres of the Incas; on top of its foundations the Spaniards built the Church and Convent of Santo Domingo. We will finish the tour walking around the Plaza de Armas (Main Square). Overnight in Cusco.
