Dry Season (May–October):
During these months, water levels are lower, making it easier to spot wildlife, as many animals gather near the remaining water sources. It is an ideal season for jungle hikes, exploring nature trails, and birdwatching in the wild.
Wet Season (November–April):
During this time, rivers reach higher levels, allowing navigation through deeper parts of the Amazon rainforest and access to areas that are normally inaccessible. Rain typically falls in short bursts during the afternoon, leaving mornings clear for activities and exploration.
Wildlife Calendar:
Throughout the year, the Amazon offers unique opportunities to observe different species in their natural environment. Between June and August, there is intense bird activity, with thousands of species in their nesting season. Between September and November, it is possible to observe the courtship behaviors of river dolphins. From December to March, family groups of giant river otters—one of the region’s most iconic animals—are observed most frequently.
